How the composite index is calculated

Each of three measures is scaled from 0 to 1 over a fixed range, then the three are averaged with equal weight (one third each) and multiplied by 100.

Countries missing any of the three get no composite score. The depression estimate (WHO, 2015) is shown on its own tab and is not in the composite, because it reflects diagnosis and reporting as well as illness, and it is older than the other data. Weights and ranges are provisional.
